Effective for all users of VetField — the clinical decision support platform for field veterinarians.
Read before using VetField for clinical decisions.
VetField generates differentials based on selected clinical signs and species. It cannot perform physical examination, auscultation, palpation, or observe the animal. Conditions may present atypically. Always examine the patient.
Dosing information is sourced from Merck Veterinary Manual, Plumb's Veterinary Drug Handbook, and published compendiums. Individual animals may require dose adjustment based on renal/hepatic function, concurrent disease, breed sensitivities, and drug interactions. Verify with current product labelling before administration.
Meat and milk withdrawal periods displayed are based on standard reference data. Actual legal withdrawal periods vary by country, product formulation, and regulatory approval. Always confirm with the product's Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) and current national legislation.
The clinical database reflects information available at time of publication. Disease epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance patterns, drug availability, and treatment guidelines change over time. VetField may not reflect the most current guidance for rapidly evolving situations.
VetField provides alerts for diseases designated as notifiable in India. Reporting obligations under the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009 are the legal responsibility of the attending veterinarian. The app's reminders do not fulfil this obligation.
Where zoonotic risk is flagged (Anthrax, Rabies, Brucellosis, AI H5N1, etc.), the information provided is advisory only. Human health emergencies must be referred immediately to the Chief Medical Officer / public health authority. VetField does not provide advice for human medical treatment.
